Event Description:

Das Dutchman Essenhaus announces the fourth annual Essenhaus Quilt Show and Sale which celebrates quilts and those who create them. The 3-day event will be held August 11ththrough August 13thbeginning at 10:00 am each day through 7:00 pm Thursday and Friday and 4:00 pm on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Essenhaus Inn & Conference Center on the main campus where the restaurant and Essenhaus Village Shops are located. The public is invited to attend and admission will be $3.00 per person.
Beautiful and unique quilts will be on display and cash awards will be presented for best hand-stitched, best machine stitched free hand, best machine stitched computer, best pieced entry, best appliqué, best vintage (completed before 1959), best of show, people’s choice and best use of theme – Celebrations. Individuals may choose to display quilts that they have crafted and they may do so at a cost of $5.00 per quilt. Display forms are available at the Essenhaus corporate office weekdays until 4:00 pm or also on-line at www.Essenhaus.com. Vendors offering fabrics, notions, patterns, books and more will be on-site throughout the event along with live quilting demonstrations, free educational seminars and a ‘Tour of Quilts’.
The Essenhaus Quilt Show runs in conjunction with the Middlebury Summer Festival, a town-wide celebration of summer with festivities and live entertainment. The quilt show also runs during the annual Quilt Gardens and Murals along the Heritage Trail event, a community-wide self-guided tour initiated by the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau that unites quilters and gardeners alike. Das Dutchman Essenhaus is an official site during the 2011 Quilt Gardens and Murals along the Heritage Trail; offering the ‘Pinwheel’ quilt garden and a ‘Double Wedding Ring’ quilt mural.
